A Little About Me

I’m originally from the U.S. and spent the first two decades of my career as a financial journalist in London and Frankfurt. I’m based in Brighton now, but I still get a kick out of simplifying and explaining financial issues that seem impenetrable at first. My mission now is to take all the hassle out of the mortgage process so you can have more time for the things you enjoy doing.

Who I Work With

Whether you’re a Londoner trying to escape to the beach, a self-employed artist in Brighton, or trying to figure out how to unlock the home equity you’ve built up for years, I can help. Mortgage advice is different for everyone, and I will make sure you’re getting what you need.

My Mortgage Superpower

Being a mortgage broker is all about solving problems. My experience as a journalist taught me how to be resourceful in getting to the bottom of stories. Even though the days of chasing scoops are behind me, I’ll use the same grit and determination to get your mortgage problems solved.

If you want to talk about why interest rates are going up and down, well, that’s right up my street. You won’t find many brokers who have followed economics, the Bank of England, and financial regulation as closely as I have.

At the same time, I also understand that being your broker is about more than just getting you a good deal–it’s about making everything easy and comprehensible as you make some of the biggest financial decisions of your life.

What I can help with...

Me Outside Delta

Outside of work, I play guitar in a band and am always up for a conversation about music. I have two sons who love skateboarding and football–at the weekends you’ll find me watching them do one or the other. And living in Brighton means my wife and I can take lots of long walks with the dog, either at the beach or in the chalk hills of the South Downs.

What makes Brian’s approach to mortgage advice different?

Brian has a background in financial journalism, so he’s experienced in breaking down complex financial topics in a way that’s easy to understand. His approach is practical, clear and focused on helping clients feel informed rather than overwhelmed.

Can Brian help me remortgage my property?

Yes. If your current mortgage deal is coming to an end, or you want to review your options, Brian can help you look at what’s available. He’ll explain the pros and cons clearly so you can make an informed decision about your next mortgage.

Does Brian work with clients relocating from London to the Brighton and Hove?

Yes. Brian often helps people moving from London and looking for a different lifestyle by the coast. He can guide you through the mortgage process, helping you understand affordability, lender requirements and how to approach your next purchase with confidence.

Can Brian help if I’m self-employed or work as a contractor?

Yes. Brian can support self-employed clients, contractors and freelancers who may have less straightforward income. He’ll help explain how lenders may assess your earnings, what documents may be needed and which mortgage options could be suitable.

What type of advice does Brian offer?

Brian helps clients with a wide range of mortgage needs, including home moves, remortgages, buy-to-let mortgages and more specialist cases. His advice is tailored to your circumstances, with a focus on making the process clear and manageable from the start.

Hear from happy people

"Brian Swint was extremely helpful and knowledgeable in arranging our mortgage and helped us navigate a number of complicated issues and secure a great deal. Also, he’s a really nice guy!"

"Very happy with all of the service I received here, Peter Connew got me a tracker mortgage sorted when my property was on the market when others said they couldn't. Then he sorted a mortgage for an onward purchase, swapping it to a cheaper tariff late on. Thanks"

Your property could be at risk if you do not keep up repayments on a mortgage, or any debt secured on it.
