The Opportunity
As a Training & Competency (T&C) Manager at Delta Mortgages, you play a key role in supporting the Director of Advisory Services in ensuring statutory, regulatory, and relevant Code compliance.
Your work directly contributes to ensuring the firm’s ongoing compliance while upholding the highest professional and regulatory standards.
This critical role is responsible for the design, delivery, and management of our training programs and the ongoing assurance of advisor competence and compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., FCA rules).
The T&C Manager ensures that colleagues meet regulatory requirements, maintain professional standards, and develop the skills needed to provide high-quality advice and service to customers.
Your Key Responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for:
Training & Development

Maintain the Adviser induction programme.

Implement ongoing technical training on mortgage, sales processes, systems, and compliance.

Maintain and update training materials in line with changes to legislation, FCA requirements, and company policies.

Support the team in achieving and maintaining relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CeMAP).
Competency Framework & Assessment

Oversee the firm’s Training & Competence (T&C) scheme, ensuring it complies with FCA regulations and industry best practice.

Conduct regular competency assessments, observations, and knowledge checks of mortgage advisers and relevant team members.

Provide structured feedback, coaching, and development plans for team members.

Maintain accurate T&C records and report on the team’s competence status.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure training programmes reinforce the importance of treating customers fairly (TCF), Consumer Duty, and delivering suitable advice.

Monitor and escalate risks or breaches identified through the T&C framework.

Address regulatory updates and integrate them into training programmes.
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

Partner with managers to identify knowledge or performance gaps and implement targeted interventions.

Arrange workshops, coaching sessions, and development initiatives to support business objectives.

About You
We’re looking for someone who has the following:
Essential
-
A solid understanding of relevant mortgage products, financial services, and regulatory requirements.

In-depth knowledge of FCA rules, T&C requirements, and mortgage regulations.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and motivate the team.

Excellent organisational skills—able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively with strong analytical and record-keeping skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and financial services software.
Desireable
-
Accredited Compliance Qualification or Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (CeMAP).

Qualifications in training or coaching.
-
Two years of management or leadership experience in a similar firm.
